TEACHING CONCEPT

CONSCIOUN BODY

The teaching approach on which I base my classes for actors and performers is founded on three main elements: MOVEMENT, CREATIVITY, and AWARENESS, where the body is the central expressive tool.

To achieve this, I draw inspiration from various techniques and methods, both from contemporary dance—such as Release, Floor Work, and Limón technique—and from somatic disciplines like Yoga, Pilates, Bartenieff, Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais, and Qi Gong.

These are all methodologies and systems that I have studied and practiced over the years, from which I draw insights to enhance the transmission and understanding of movement principles.

In addition to the focus on movement techniques and bodily awareness, the section dedicated to improvisation plays a crucial role in discovering one’s own creativity, curiosity, desire to experiment, and willingness to take risks. Principles from the system developed by Laban and the Viewpoints technique concerning the relationship between space-time and the individual and 'the others', as well as the Roy Hart method for the use of the voice in relation to movement, are fundamental points of reference.

Through the synthesis of these disciplines, and my personal experience, the intention is to provide students and participants with tools to explore and deepen the diverse potential of their bodies, both physically and perceptually. It is also about conveying the awareness that, through this work, it is possible to refine one’s stage presence, expressive qualities, and artistic abilities.

STAGE SPACE AND SCENIC BODY

The work focused on "stage space" aims to refine the gaze, perception, and intuition to capture everything that can be a source of inspiration for creation.
It seeks to expand the "point of view," the vision in which every environment can, depending on the circumstances, become stage space.

The work concerning the "scenic body" starts from the observation and work on the actor's body in relation to their character, so that there is no separation between the two dimensions, but integration and authenticity.
