Bildungszeit is paid educational leave for personal and professional development, available in many German federal states. Every employee is entitled to several days per year for recognized courses.

These can include professional training, languages, health, yoga, or other topics.

During that specific time, the employer continues to pay the salary, while participants invest their time in what they choose to deepen for themselves and their work.

The VHS Tempelhof/Schöneberg in Berlin offers this opportunity, as do many other adult education centers and institutions in Germany.
In addition to recognition as Bildungszeit in the state of Berlin, it is also valid in the following federal states:
. North Rhine-Westphalia,
. Baden-Württemberg,
. Saarland.
